stimulus hoax
This is the defining global health crisis of our time," World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said Monday. "The days, weeks and months ahead will be a test of our resolve, a test of our trust in science and a test of solidarity.
When Trump approved the 2 trillion plus dollar stimulus package it was all spent within 5 minutes with absolutely no regard for the future. At the time, he was saying that the quarantine would be over by Easter as, after all, coronavirus is a hoax! Of course, like most things that Trump says, it was an ill-informed semi-psychotic lie.
So here we are, week six of the quarantine, and its time for Trump to do something again. The stimulus check of $1,200.00 for tax paying Americans was derived by the federal minimum wage times a forty hour work week times four weeks, rounded up. Aside from the obvious question of "since the quarantine was supposed to be over by Easter why did you plan for double the quarantine, as though you knew you were lying, Mr. President?" But the answer is not important: it would just be another lie.
What surely is important right now is another question entirely, "Mr. President, after spending the mysteriously acquired $2+T loan, or whatever it was, almost immediately without any consideration for our future do you expect to do the same thing again, bringing this figure to $4+T?" The federal government has paid reppariations for lost trust and inability to properly govern to us all, but only for the first four of our new six weeks in quarantine. This means that Trump owes America over a trillion dollars, or about 600 billion dollars per week that the quarantine continues. At $600B per week, our national debt will double from the $17T figure I recall in 2016 to over $34T in just five months, and we are already about 20% of the way there at just six weeks in.
