Surprise, surprise: the French Government will not find itself guilty for arson of the Notre Dame fire, but all facts point unequivocally to that point.

The fire started. How exactly it started might never be known to the public, but it started. This was during a time of repaird and construction being done under the roof of Notre Dame. It is likely that they found an irreperable flaw and started the fire for that reason, but as I said, we might never know.

The fire started qnd an alarm sounded. A fire alarm, naturally. At this point Notre Dame sent a single guard to the wrong side of Notre Dame to check out what all the fuss was about. If you are ever been in charge of a national wonder: don't do that: call the fire department. Most buildings in cities, especially important ones, are less than 60 seconds away from a fire truck responding to a phone call. When there is a fire alarm in the most prized possesion of your city: you call the fire department.

I'm saying these obvious things because these simple actions which prevent Notre Dames from burning down all over the world on a regular basis were not taken. After the Notre Dame fire alarm went off and the guard was dispatched, the Notre Dame administration waited for over 33 minutes before calling the fire department.

There is only one possible reason for this neglect: the French Government wanted Notre Dame to burn down. A prompt phone call would have saved the wonder, but they waited until they were sure the fire had taken and they wouldn't have to re-light it before "trying to save the place."

I suspect that the 460 tons of lead in the ceiling had something to do with it: paying for all that toxic waste to be replaced and brought up to building code would have cost more than simply burning it down and building a new one...wait...that's exactly what they did.
