Joe Rogan under attack by Google.
Ever since Joe has announced that he is moving to Spotify, YouTube (i.e., Google) has not been happy and has, since, launched a series of threats and attacks on Joe, and on Spotify, respectively.
At first, Google was behind the sabotage of comedians (Chris D’Elia, Joe Rogan, Joey Diaz, Bryan Callen) because they were moving to Spotify. So, Google attempted to force Spotify to “take a ‘moral’ stance” through the use of, countless, fake, Twitter accounts which tried publicly coercing Spotify to de-platform, and not partner up, with Joe Rogan and his friends. Google’s hope was that Joe would take the threat of leaving YouTube, or be cancelled, seriously. This did not work. (However, you will, interestingly note that Joe Rogan episodes are still uploaded to YouTube, when it was supposed to be an exclusive Spotify deal. You will also note that the ‘cancel culture’ is no longer pursuing any of his comedian friends anymore, after Joe ignored all threats and still made his way to Spotify, regardless.)
Now, Google is launching a second attack by falsely generating a campaign that there are “Spotify employees” who want to censor Joe Rogan. This is, absolutely, a lie entirely made up by Google in the hopes that Spotify is targeted with negative attention. The goals here are many:
a) That Google stops any further YouTube partners from migrating to Spotify.
b) That Joe Rogan leaves Spotify, for YouTube, who would happily payout Joe’s contract penalty to Spotify.
c) That Spotify loses Joe Rogan, and his friends, and along with the negative media attention, shrink Spotify’s market value, so that Google acquires Spotify at a discount. There is a long history, and numerous negotiations, of Google trying to acquire Spotify, that have fell flat. When Spotify picked up Joe Rogan, and his friends, Spotify’s value increased, and Google “took it personally”.
d) There will be no end to Google’s restless onslaught on Joe Rogan and Spotify, up until either Joe is cancelled, or back with YouTube, or Spotify is bought by Google. Google will never let go of the most powerful podcast on the planet, and its prospect of controlling and censoring Joe Rogan.
Spotify is innocent in all of this, and are now beginning to learn that Google will make their life hell.
