Was T-series vs Pewdiepie a ploy to increase viewers?

Now the battle is over but still Pewdiepie vs t-series seems like a ploy by youtube and these two creators to increase users. So this all started when Pewdiepie told his fans about t series and then he even launched a diss track against t series and indians. T series couldn't have started it because they dont have a face for their channel. And Pewdiepie starting it also helped indians rally behind the channel. As it is well known that Indians get offended easily. But Pewdiepie was ahead of t series at that time. His channel growth was really slow. It took him a year to gain Ten mill subs. So it can be said that it was a desperate attempt to gain subs. And tseries didn't have to do anything in that battle because indians did everything themselves. But you tube played a big role in that battle. They tried to fire the flames as much as they could. If they wanted they could have just kill that battle like they did with youtube vs tiktok this year by removing videos of certain youtubers because this controversy would have made people side with either youtube or tiktok. Which would have meant user loss. But in tseries vs Pewdiepie they tried everything to make more and more people aware about this ongoing battle. All on social media platforms there were memes, posts, articles about it. New channels arose which showed live sub counts. There were other you tubers who made their own diss tracks( youtube blocked a certain youtubers video about tik tok who also made a diss track on Pewdiepie). It was the perfect time for such a kind of battle because in 2016 with the launch of jio the no.'s of internet users in india increased by leaps and bounds. So you tube basically needed a kind of push to make people use their platform more. And they used Indians offensive nature to do so. And not just Indians they also manipulated Pewdiepie fans who wanted to see him on top. If only they could make people open their app (Selected content helps in making them stay there). The viewcount channels helped in that. If not for anything else then people opened youtube to check the subs count. Then they watched videos of either you tube or Pewdiepie to further help. There was even a time when pewdie gained six.three mill subs in a month. In just 239 days Pewdiepie gained almost 2.63 billion views whereas t series gained 22.03 billion views. That count was more than Pewdiepie's entire channel's viewcount at that time. It is true that both channels gained a lot from this battle even if one of them lost. But one can't help but wonder that youtube was the one that gained most from this. And it seems like they manipulated us to do so. What are your thoughts on the theory?
