Has anyone else noticed how America's socially acceptable drugs have gotten much stronger?
Caffeine and nicotine come to mind.
When I was in high school, energy drinks were weak. Red Bull had 70mg caffeine, Monster had 158mg caffeine. Now, you go anywhere: gas station, grocery store, Walmart, they all carry Bang (300mg), Reign (300mg), Rockstar Extra Strength (240mg and I believe Rockstar now has a 300mg option)
Next, nicotine. When I started vaping in 2016 (bad habit I know), people used 3mg (0.3%), 6mg (0.6%), maybe 12mg (1.2%). Now, there are hundreds of disposable vapes, all of which are 50mg/5%. You can even buy these at convenient stores and gas stations now.
I'm not here to post opinions, I'll leave that to you guys. What do you think is going on?
