WE LIVE IN A SIMULATION!!!!
Okay okay I know this is super long, and I'm not taking credit for it as I have pulled information from a book I am reading but here's what and why I believe we live in a simulation. Sorry for typos, TLDR: Quantum Physics phenomenon give a good understanding of it.
What is reality has been a question that's been asked by us through science and religion for a long time. Psychologists like Carl Young bring the idea of mental projection, essentially each and every one of us experience the world in our heads since everything is being processed through our brain. Elon Musk, Albert Einstein, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, all have come forward stating that this theory is fairly likely compared to others.
We've discovered that Quantum Physics becomes much more explainable when we dive in the simulation hypothesis, it explains the ancient teachings of eastern tradition/religion in a scientific way.
The idea of a subjective reality along with Quantum physics goes hand in hand. First and foremost Steven Hawking speculated we have a 50% chance of being in a simulation. Here are some clues that Quantum Physics provides:
Quantum Leap - When subatomic particles move from one space to the next practically teleporting and nothing move through the space. Which is true in computer simulations.
Quantum Probability Wave - That until observed (Or rendered) a particle is not necessarily a particle but a wave. The best explanation physicists have been able to give for this is that through the act of observation, consciousness collapses the probability wave. Theoretical Physicist Fred Allen Wolf believes consciousness is THE role that renders the probability wave to become a particle. Since 1650 science has subscribed to consciousness and reality don't interact with one another. Quantum Physics plays such a fine role in causing this paradigm shift that reality is not just subjective, but it is subjective a multiple amount of times for the same person.(I.E. Quantum Indeterminacy)
So.... a priori, there is a piece of the world that is currently un-rendered since no one is watching. It makes a lot of sense when you hear scientists who look out into the universe and find an unlimited amount of it. Because once they move to new depths it is rendered.
If we didn't live in such an existence then why would we live in a probabilistic world where making a decision or observing something collapses a probability wave to a single timeline or probability?
Even many of the findings in relativity and quantum physics as I have described make no sense in the physical world. But science is constantly changing. For example Newton explained the world better than what science could in that day. Then Albert Einstein came up with the Theory of Relativity which explained physics better than Newton's model and so was adopted. Just like Quantum Physics it's model of the microscopic world of chance and probabilities explain the observed results much better than Neil Bohr's planetary model.
While Quantum Physics at first seemed very fringe, eventually became adopted across the board. It turns out with the help of Quantum Physics and a simulated world theory answers a very important question on reality. Why does it work this way?
Finally, we have mathematics/computing to understand the universe. Much like the butterfly effect we are able to understand the chaos by running computer simulations with the mathematics involved. Even processes that appear completely random, fall in line with a pattern thus contradicting chaos theory. Stephan Wolfram argues that the world we live in is computational and thus can be predicted. He states that everything physical, chemical, or biological processes have a computation embedded within them.
So if you do agree then I must beg the question; What is this simulation about?
