Anton Eggo... waffles????

Hear me out, Anton Ego from Ratatouille spends an early part of the movie criticizing Gusto’s frozen food franchise. Why is he ignoring and criticizing great frozen foods, like waffles? They’re dank. The only logical conclusion is that Ego(—> Eggo) is Anton’s middle name and his last name is Waffles. He grew up being bullied for his name, so when he became an adult, he made his middle name his last. He also despised Gusto’s frozen food endeavors because his father, the CEO of Eggo Waffles, abandoned him in his adolescence. For years, he ate his father’s waffles in hopes that it would impress his father, got incredibly fat, and then ended up moving to Paris to start over. He became a serious food critic and made a specific point to be incredibly hard on any chefs who sold themselves to the economic benefits of frozen food franchises.
Anton Eggo Waffles is shocked when he eats remy’s ratatouille dish not only for its deliciousness, but because it took him back to his childhood, in which his father had not yet left him and his family was in tact. It revived his cold heart by providing the feeling of a parental-love.
