Isn't it curious that...

Thinking about legendary creatures... don't you find it weird that nearly every civilization in history has their own version of mythical creatures? Every region of the world, as far back in history as we can recall and analyze from archeological finds and preserved documents, has their own version of the undead, the vampire, the ghost. Yes, i understand that it was most probably because of medical inefficiencies, religious beliefs and ignorance but i find it weird that every religion in the world and every culture has their version of the cannibalistic monster/undead. Why is it that the figure of the Boogie Man is so prominent in history? The Romans had a similar dark entity that came at night to do evil things to people, the Midnight Man. The native americans had the Wendigo, a tall, cannibalistic demonic creature that dwells in the woods. In Italy there is the "Uomo Nero" which is essentially the boogie man of popular culture. The hispanic cultures have a similar form to the wendigo/vampire, the Chupacabras. There is also the werewolf in the common mythology. It's origin is as far back as ancient Greece, and it has existed throughout history as a terrifying creature. Of course, there is a pattern. You can find similarities between mythological creatures, cryptozoo's and monsters from all around the world, which would dictate a common origin and common knowledge about them since we started to record history. Is it a coincidence that Alaska and Egypt had their version of the boogie man at the same time in history? Is it normal that sumerians had their version of the vampire, as amazonians did, centuries before the birth of Christ? I think they don't really exist as we're told... but a common origin and knowledge about similar creatures would imply that there is a hint of truth behind these creatures. Maybe misunderstandings because of ignorance, or even cryptozoos, who knows. I'll always leave myself open towards new truths...
