Theory: the Nashville RV terrorist bomber believed he was a "Targeted Individual."

First, what struck me was that he believed he was a good person. He tried to avoid deaths to some extent. He waved back to his neighbors occasionally, which meant he was not overtly hostile.

At the same time, he, over time, became increasingly isolated and increased the home security cameras and privacy fencing around his home. He moved out of his own home to an apartment.

What I found to be interesting:

Usually there is a manifesto or an easily found motive. He appears to have avoided making political statements, so I dont think he did it for the right or left.

That coupled with his target:

The technical capabilities of AT&T.

The Electronic Frontier Foundation sued AT&T a year or so ago for selling real time immediate location data to apparently anyone with 300 bucks.

There is a post by a deleted account on r/technostalking talking about how "5G is the ultimate technostalking tool".

The FBI appears to believe that the terrorist believed he was being stalked or under surveillance using 5G.

*caveat: however my language may imply that his experience was or was not real, I absolutely believe it is both possible and happening that people are being targeted and stalked/mobbed by individual bad actors with access to surveillance capabilities and those on internet forums they convince with fantastical (and/or real) stories of villainous behavior to also engage in aiding and abetting those stalkers.

I think this person became suicidal due to a relentless campaign of subtle, malevolent harassment and stalking and he believed AT&T helped facilitate that harassment and stalking.

The FBI would do well, as a matter of national security, therefore, to study the phenomenon of organized "gangstalking"/ "surveillance stalking" / "technostalking" and understand the psychological and sociological underpinnings (see ingroup dynamics) of this behavior, the victims, the initiators, the co-conspirators and bystanders, the means by which this is accomplished, and the effects on the behavior of the targeted individual.

At some point, intervention (in the form of enforcement of laws already on the books regarding stalking, computer crimes, aiding and abetting, etc, that does not make the problem worse by increasing the distress of the victim) should be considered as a harm mitigation tactic.
