Why do a lot of people who believe we'll see the apocalypse tend to be Christian?

Every year, every generation there's someone claiming the end of the world is coming. Most of these people tend to be Christians but there's two different types of Christians that believe we'll see the apocalypse. They either think it's a certain date or they're unsure but firmly believe they'll experience the apocalypse in their lifetime. Someone pointed out in a different thread every generation has apocalypse claimers because when we see something unusual or the unknown we'll fill in the blanks to basically cope with it or make sense of it. But non Christians who claim the apocalypse tend to think about it differently than Christians. Is it being unfamiliar with these events and linking them as signs of biblical prophecies, is it wanting to feel included in a biblical context, is it a mindset where if you see the apocalypse or rapture you'll for sure know god exists and everyone else is wrong, or is it something else? There's nothing in the bible as far as I'm aware that indicates the end of the world will be during our lifetime in particular. So why are some Christians so sure we'll see the apocalypse? and while I'm at it there's an interesting correlation between conspiracy theorists and Christians.
