What if Mojang rigged the Minecraft mob vote?
Think about it, the Moobloom was one of the big special rare mobs in MCEarth at the time, having likely already inferred that the project was probably doomed to fail because of the pandemic, they probably wanted to not brings anything to the base game that could substantially remind players of Earth's existence.
The next mob they must've wanted out was the Iceologer. Updates have generally added ways to make the game easier, especially if they're themed around certain areas with new content that they want you to explore, update aquatic added the ability swim, and craft conduits, as well as dolphins all to make water easier to traverse so you can raid shipwrecks. The greatest failing of the Nether update may be that it made the game harder in a way, requiring gold armor to evade the piglins, a minor setback, but when a slim percentage of players ever manage to reach the nether, it can definitely be construed as a step in the wrong direction, combined with the fact that players with more fleshed out worlds would have a harder time reaching the new content only available in unloaded chunks, it overall kind of puts a lot of the developers' effort to waste. So this time they probably want to make the new mountains less hostile, so Iceologer was out of the picture.
The glow squid is fairly obscure, it barely looks like a MC Earth mob, it adds atmosphere and would be easiest to develop. These community voted things are usually an after thought, the worst of the worst ideas that they're even slightly willing to implement, and generally have no correlation with the theme of the update, phantoms in update aquatic, and foxes in village and pillage. Am I on to something?
