Call to Action: Email your Representatives Week 3 (with template letter!)
Hello UAP/UFO community,
I am reposting this thread as I am hoping to bring awareness to this issue on a weekly basis. We are now at week 3 of this campaign, and hopefully this catches some eyes that have not seen it in the past 2 weeks.
I am writing with a call to action following some of the recent news that has come out. Like many others, I was hearted with idea that the government seems to finally be taking UAP seriously, but a little dissatisfied with the level of information revealed. This is why it is important for us to let it be known that we as the public want more information. Our representatives answer to us. So here are some resources that we may use to contact our legislators.
Option A:
/u/gambit6x has put together an amazing website that streamlines this process in an extremely easy fashion. I highly recommend users visit this website (http://uaptruth.org) to contact legislators in a user friendly fashion that is quick, user-friendly, and effective.
Option B:
Step 1:
Knowing who your representatives is not always an easy process. Thankfully, there are great websites like https://democracy.io/ that can help you find who your 2 senators and 1 congress person are. Simply input your address in the system and it will automatically find your representatives. There, you select which representatives you want to write, and click "Write to them!"
Step 2:
Here, you title your message and include the body. Here is a sample title and body of one that I have drafted to send to my representatives. I will include it below for anyone who would like to use it:
Subject
Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Requests
Body
Dear Representatives,
My name is (YOUR NAME HERE), a constituent residing in your district. I am writing in the wake of the preliminary report regarding Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) released by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) on Friday, June 25th, 2021. While it is heartening to see that congress is starting to seriously consider UAP in our airspace, it is clear that there is a great deal of work still to be done. I write to you as a means of voicing my concerns on this matter so that you may advocate for these issues on behalf of your constituents as our representative.
As per the preliminary UAP report, 143 of the 144 reports involving UAP since 2004 that were examined by ODNI remain unexplained. The idea that UAP roam our airspace is an issue of serious concern to me, especially given the possible threat to our national security that these UAP pose. There are 3 areas I ask of you advocate for on my behalf and follow up on with your colleagues in both chambers of congress:
- Increased Transparency
It is clear that the House Intelligence Committee and Senate Intelligence Committee are aware of significantly more information about UAP in our airspace than the general public. I humbly request that you begin the process of holding live hearings with the relevant parties from the ODNI responsible for drafting the preliminary report to reveal more information about the UAP phenomena that is already known by relevant agencies. I also request hearings with individuals from other relevant government agencies evaluating UAP to reveal more information of which the public is not yet aware.
- Increased Funding
As outlined in the preliminary report, one of the conclusions reached by the UAP Task Force (UAPTF) was that increased funding towards studying these phenomena would greatly benefit the identification of these UAP. I humbly request that you advocate for increased funding earmarked specifically for the research and identification of these phenomena in accordance with a UAP Collection Strategy, UAP R&D Technical Roadmap, and a UAP Program Plan as suggested by the UAPTF.
- Increased Cooperation
Despite the ODNI cooperating with a number of agencies to draft the preliminary report on UAP (including FBI, NSI, and DARPA), key partners that would have been critical to include in this report, including NASA, were conspicuously excluded. Additionally, as identified within the preliminary report, the UAPTF was unable to confirm whether these sightings “could be attributable to developments and classified programs by U.S. entities.” This indicates a data-sharing failure on the part of these government agencies. Lastly, an absence of formal reporting procedures of UAP in many of these agencies severely hampers identification efforts. I humbly request that you advocate for the development of consistent, formal reporting procedures of UAP within these government agencies. Secondly, I request that you advocate for increased cooperation in the form of data-sharing between the relevant government agencies so that there is a greater opportunity for UAP to be identified.
I appreciate your time and consideration in this matter as this is one of great importance for me and many other constituents. I look forward to your cooperation on this matter and your response to these requests.
Sincerely,
(YOUR NAME)
Step 3:
Following pasting the subject and body of the letter into the website (and feel free to make any changes), you must fill in your email, first name, last name, prefix and phone number. Some people may be wary of this, but by default, these are pieces of information that you need to include in order to write to your representatives in the first place.
Step 4:
Lastly, you need to assign a "topic" to this issue for each of your representatives. While there are many different ones to select from the dropdown, I would suggest one such as science, technology, or defense/military. One you have filled in all of this information, you can send your email to all your representatives!
And that is all! If we band together as a community, it would be necessary for them to respond to us. You can do this as frequently as you want. Everyday, every week, (once a week is my preferred), as many times as it takes to get a response. In any case, please join me in writing your representative so that we can finally get some transparency in this matter.
P.S. If anyone has any suggestions to the template to include if I ever post this call to action again, please feel free to include these in the replies. Thank you for your time!
