How should we refer specifically to UAP showing at least some of the 5 observables, while excluding anything that doesn't display any?

Let's face it: the only reason we would ever care about a UFO/UAP is if they display some unusual capabilities. If the thing is not acting in a crazy way it's probably nothing amazing, even if it's still unidentified.

This is what Elizondo, Mellon, and the UAP report emphasize.

People here often joke that everything is unidentified if you suck at identifying things, and that's true. A person who doesn't know what a smoke ring is will go crazy over a black circle in the sky.

Should we always group all these things together? Does it help make the case for UFOs to always lump everything in the same category?

The terms UFO or UAP just mean the thing is unidentified, a property of our knowledge more than that of the object. It says nothing of what it was capable of doing, which is the important thing right? Shouldn't that be emphasized?

I propose we replace the "Unidentified" in UAP with "Extraordinary", and keep "phenomenon". This emphasizes the behavior of the phenomenon and where it occurs:

  • EAP - Extraordinary Aerial Phenomena: something beyond our current ordinary explanations happening in the sky.
  • EUP - Extraordinary Underwater Phenomena: something beyond our current ordinary explanations happening underwater.
  • EAP+EUP = ETP - Extraordinary Transmedium Phenomena: something beyond our current ordinary explanations happening across both mediums.

Calling something an EAP focus the discussion on analyzing the behavior instead of identifying the object. That's much more interesting and productive, and allows everyone to stick to the facts observed, and analyzing whether it is actually deserving of the label "extraordinary" or not.

Wouldn't that help? Just my two cents.
