We had the Space Race, but what about the Deep Sea Race
For many years, countries have competed for the right to be first with many milestones in regard to space. First to go into space, first to land on the moon, and now, first to get to Mars. But with all these amazing technological advances, one wonders what amazing technological advances we have had in regards to deep sea exploration? Roughly 80% of the oceans remain unexplored. If deep sea exploration received even half as much technological advancement as space exploration, then I suspect humanity knows a lot more about what’s down there then is publicly available. Submarines are probably just scratching the surface in terms of underwater exploration vehicles that we have at our disposal. Thoughts?
