Why disclosure now? The reasons could be very simple...
If the current narrative about the beginning of a gradual process of disclosure is true, and I understand that people doubt this for various reasons, then it might actually just be for a very simple and straightforward reason. It basically just boils down to the fact that military sensing hardware continues to improve.
The military has excellent optical systems, radars, and other systems. We live in a world where every nation is always trying to advance its military capabilities, and the US spends trillions of dollars to develop all of its weapons and intel gathering systems in parallel. Compelling evidence of UAPs is kept secret because of the ambitions of our military industrial complex, but ironically this could be the very same reason why it will soon be impossible to a keep a lid on such phenomena.
There are over a million active personnel in the US military today. The US navy alone has almost 500 ships, our military has 13,000 aircraft, with bases all over the word. What is the point of developing next-generation sensor technologies if they aren't going to be deployed on active military hardware? The military isn't just going to stagnate and allow its deployed fleets of equipment to become obsolete.
But this presents a problem. When every ship, aircraft and military base has potentially dozens of people manning sensor systems that can clearly observe advanced UAPs, how can the military possibly hope to keep that under wraps? It feels to me like we are transitioning to a phase where its just becoming an open secret that there are advanced UAPs showing up on military hardware quite often, and its only going to become even more common as resolution, response time and range improves.
They're going to do what they can to prevent leaks, particularly ones that reveal the capabilities of our best sensor systems, but there is no way that they'll be able to stop the rank and file from talking to each other and their friends and family, when all of them start seeing this stuff on a regular basis more and more often. Additionally, whatever sensor systems we do have recording UAPs, the capabilities of existing sensors will become less secret as the years go by and the systems age. We may be frustrated by low res FLIR videos now, but with exponentially improving computer and camera technology, its only a matter of time before higher resolution stuff starts to leak or be declassified.
