Showtime's UFO Raises a New Kind of Controversial Spin-Foil

On its first season, this docu-series explores many aspects surrounding the UFO mystery by focusing on some not commonly explored angles. This is NOT your traditional UFO documentary. Yet, it entertains some conspiracy theories. Akin to the ones where government is behind all this. However, not in the way, which we have witnessed before. But rather a select group of people, associated with the phenomenon, in our present day and time. Are basically accused of being pawns or willing participants in this conspiracy.

The folks being interview are given a spotlight. We learn who they are. What motivates them. What role they have played in all this. And what contributions they have offered the UFO narrative in recent times. As well as, the complexity of the connections between each other. But most importantly this documentary is about belief. That's right, faith. All these people have something in common, they believe in something relating to UFOs in some shape or form. They are all equally passionate about it. Which is very important to note because what these people believe in, is what drives them to pursuit truth. Now, whatever this truth may be, we do not know for sure. And that is the bottom line. This is very well, put-together, speculation.

This documentary doesn't shy away from the fact that the UFO mystery is a very convoluted and extremely complex mystery. And that, the phenomenon itself is but a small piece of perhaps, a larger puzzle. The UFO community has a wide range of POVs. People who all have a common interest in the topic, but they see this mystery, from completely different angles.

One aspect which the documentary highlights and explores. Is the fact that, for the first time in UFO History, we got an alleged government leak which was then authenticated by the US government. This situation is extremely odd. And it doesn't fit the previous pattern in the parallel history of UFO research and the government's response to claims of leaked information. This leak, in question, was in the form of the now famous Go-Fast, Gimbal and FLIR videos which were leaked via the "To The Stars Academy." You see, there is a long history of alleged "leaked government UFO information" and UFO researches receiving this information. However, none of those previous leaks were ever given credence by the US government. None of them except for this one. Why? Well, the documentary attempts to provide a possible answer to this question by simultaneously washing its own hands.

At its best, this documentary features some interesting POVs for all to consider. However, at its worst, there is a clear attempt to assassinate people's character here. And the blood is dripping on J.J. Abrahams hands. It is important to note that this documentary DOES NOT feature any interviews with Lue Elizondo, Chris Mellon, Robert Bigelow or Tom DeLonge. Yet their names are thrown into the pot very, very often. And some people associated with them provide commentary in their favor. However, there are other people who have their voices heard here. And they highly scrutinize Lue and company, in order to raise their suspicions and weave some tantalizing spin-foil which attempts to provide all of the answers.

In some instances, the documentary cleverly hints that Lue and company may have ulterior motives. And that they have intentions to deceive and their goal is simply to gain an obscene amount of money out of all this. However, Lue and company are never given the opportunity to speak for themselves. With the exception, some archival footage from various interviews and conferences where they have appeared. Which the documentary even uses to suggest that Lue Elizondo may be deceitful. (They show quick shots of Lue doing funny gestures with his eyebrows or having a smirk on his face). Completely taken out of context. It honestly feels like cheap shot or a punch below the belt. But hey, that's what we are being served here.

This conspiracy narrative is mainly weaved by John Greenewald and James Carrion. Based on their independent experiences, research and findings.

For example, in Episode 03, James Carrion says this about Tom DeLonge:

"I don't know Tom DeLonge and I don't want to speak badly of him. But honestly... To me, he seems to be a useful idiot in all of this. And I hate to use that term, but that is sort of like... the term for somebody who's being used unwittingly."

Then they add this commentary by John Greenewald:

"You have Tom Delonge's entrepreneurial background. Very successful background. You have a corporation that is aiming originally to raise 50 million dollars. I think and is not popular to say, but that money may be a big motivating factor for these men to come together. If that doesn't screen PR move --which is fine, but we have to frame it appropriately-- that, that's what they were orchestrating the New York Times to do. Not necessarily a piece on AATIP and UFOs but rather putting the spotlight on an organization.

This "organization" or "corporation" is "To The Stars Academy." See, it's spin-foil. Just not the type of spin-foil we are accustomed to watch in these documentaries. But unlike Dr. Steven Greer's crackpot alien invasion spin-foil in his long-winded informercial. We are served a warning that the government is playing the magician's hand in order to create a distraction and that the people who are carrying this distraction are none other that Lue Elizondo and company. That's right, the same people responsible for bringing to the table David Fravor's story and raising the issue to government. The documentary even bounces between this idea, and the counter points presented by George Knapp and the NY Times staff who provide reasons why they do not believe this spin-foil.

And I feel that, to a certain extend, this documentary is heavily trying to discredit Lue Elizondo's claims. Not by scientifically analyzing his claims or by scientifically analyzing the tools which Lue uses to support his claims. None of that is discussed here. There is absolutely no talk about the (5) observables, or any of that. Nada. Zero. Instead, Lue's claims are completely dismissed by this attempt to assassinate his character and that of some of the people who are or were associated with him. Sound familiar? Well, Lue is no Robert lazar, nor David Adair. But they are trying to place him and his efforts in a lower level than even Robert lazar and David Adair are regarded by some. And I honestly don't believe that Lue Elizondo deserves that. But hey, that's just what I believe in. See? We all believe something in this business of UFOs.

Anyway, this documentary paints the UFO story by focusing on the stories behind the stories. This is an angle seldom explored. This documentary attempts to shake the UFO tree in the search for answers. But although, it explores many interesting angles. In the end, it simply creates more questions than it does in the form of providing any answers. And how this is done is a very interesting journey, to say the least. They present key players in this unfolding mystery along with some of their background information. However, not all key players are presented here. Particularly those being scrutinized and being presented as the conspirators by some.

In this docu-series, we explore:

  1. Who is Leslie Kean and how she became interested in investigating UFOs. Why was she chosen to break the AATIP / UAP story and who was behind the leaked videos. As well as, the significance of having the NY Times seal of approval on this story. And why Leslie Kean believes that the phenomenon is real and that it deserves to be scientifically studied. We also explore why Leslie limits herself not to venture into the topic of abductions or ET contact.
  2. Who is George Knapp and how he became interested in investigating UFOs. And why he willingly passed the opportunity to break the AATIP Story. His awareness of government disinformation tactics to obscure the existence of US tech and why George Knapp believes that UAPs are real tech of unknown origin and why the phenomenon deserves to be studied.
  3. Who is John Greenewald and how he became interested in investigating UFOs. We learn what he has uncovered by strategically using FOIA requests in order to gather information from the government. Why John Greenewald's believes that the USAF is testing black projects on the US Navy. And that allowing the UAP narrative to continue, serves the interest of the US government. Since it is simply, in his view, a distraction from any focus on the USAF as the source of these UAPs. He highlights how the USAF has remained silent during the entire AATIP / UAP dialogue.
  4. The parallels between UFO belief and religious belief. How the notion of UFOs is mostly based on faith. And how pervasive and obsessive this belief has become over the decades. How it may relate to other aspects of popular culture, and how it appears to be a response to different collective anxieties which arose over the decades.
  5. What was AATIP. What motivated its creation and how it came to become a secret Pentagon Project. Where did the AATIP money go to? Who managed the dough?
  6. How through The Black Vault investigations, John Greenewald has found connections between AATIP, To the Stars Academy, Robert Bigelow, and other significant figures. Essentially highlighting that there is a direct connection between Government and the Private Sector whose common denominator is an interest in UAP advanced technology.
  7. An in-depth look into the Phoenix Lights Incident. The story of Frances Barwood, a politician who sought to uncover the truth behind the incident. How the incident and the local government's response, affected the witnesses. And an in-depth look into Fife Symington's involvement. Who at the time, was Arizona's Governor. And how his "dirty laundry" may have had a connection to his response to the UFO incident. Which he, himself, witnessed.
  8. How the DoD denied Elizondo's involvement with AATIP. And how baffling this behavior was for John Greenewald. Who is Lue Elizondo? And what claims has he made in the past? How has the government gone back and forth about Lue's involvement with AATIP. Is it all a smokescreen?
  9. Who is Robert Bigelow, what are his motivations and involvement in the study of UFOs. Why he claims that there is constant ET presence on planet Earth.
  10. Who is James Carrion and how he became involved with MUFON. James believes that what we are witnessing is mostly disinformation used by the government to cover up black projects.
  11. How Robert Bigelow approached MUFON to collet data from them. And how Bigelow revealed to James Carrion that the money which he offered MUFON came from "a sponsor" which Bigelow refused to disclose. James believes that this was the money from AATIP.
  12. What is "To The Stars Academy"? And who is Tom Delonge and what has been his involvement.
  13. What is Skinwalker Ranch and what kind of weird anomalous shit people have encountered there. What is the Native American significance of its name. Why the people who have been there to investigate the phenomenon, believe that the phenomenon is in absolute control of these incidents. And how the phenomenon manifests its cunning intelligence. How the phenomenon always appears to be ahead of their investigators.
  14. A glimpse into the kind of research which Bigelow presented to MUFON. Which involved some very technical aspects of the capabilities which UAP exhibit. Which reveals, to a certain extend, a very technical understanding of this technology's functions.
  15. Who is Richard Doty and what does he have to say about UFOs and his involvement with the UFO Community. He essentially confirms the Project Aquarius Leaks. The claims of two crashed UAPs in New Mexico. The existence of EBE and the government's interest in back-engineering this alien tech. But then again, Richard Doty is a master of disinformation.
  16. How Richard Doty mislead an UFO believer, Paul Benewitz, into lunacy by feeding into his fears and paranoia. Simply because Paul had stumbled upon a secret tactic by a local USAF in order to to blind Russian spy satellites. However, Richard Doty claims that ironically, Paul actually had caught an actual UFO in a photograph he took. Richard highlights how the UFO mantle of mystery can be used to the US government's tactical advantage.
  17. What are some explanations which the US government has used to explain UFOs in the past. Among these explanations: Weather Balloons, Project Mogul, U2s, SR-71 planes, ETC.
  18. A possible, reasonable but (not definitive nor absolute) explanation for the Phoenix Lights Incident. Involving a secret US project which created large "V" Shaped Stealth Balloons capable of reaching heights of 300,000 feet. Which somewhat resemble what people saw that night. However, these balloons do not account for all the behavior observed.
  19. An in-depth look into the Nimitz Incident. How it was extraordinary and what were the capabilities of the "Tic-Tac" UFO. What was observed and recorded. And how some of the data, recorded that day, disappeared under suspicious circumstances.
  20. Who is Kevin Day and how he got PTSD from the Nimitz Incident, its implications and the government's lack of response. How he was humbled by not being able to identify the objects which he picked up on radar. How anomalous was the UAP behavior which he observed. And how Kevin felt moved by the Nimitz Incident being brought into the mainstream media.
  21. Who is Greg Eghigian and what does he have to say about his studies on the UFO History and the History of UFO research. From cases over different decades to claims of contact with ETs. He believes it is a sociological and psychological phenomenon. A kind of self-feeding uroboros.
  22. Who was John Mack and how he became involved with UFOs and abductees. What may have driven him to pursuit his studies on a science considered fringe by most.
  23. An in-depth look into John Mack' abduction studies and his conclusions based on his research. How bizarre the circumstances surrounding Mack's death were perceived by some in the UFO community. And why Mack believed that his patients were telling the truth.
  24. Who is Chris Mellon and what have been his contributions to the UFO community. He was instrumental in the leaked videos and the NY Times article, with the help of Elizondo. Chris has no financial incentive to pursuit this matter. He simply wants to know the truth behind UAPs.
  25. The fact the Lue Elizondo and Chris Mellon left the "To The Stars Academy." And that they are now working hard to get the phenomenon to be taken seriously and to get the scientific community to consider the study of UFOs, a respectable science.
