The Pentagon isn't behind "disclosure." They are actively hampering it.
I wanted to throw this out there because there seems to be A LOT of misconceptions about "disclosure" .. who is behind it, and where it's going.
I see posts here almost daily asking "why now?" Why is the Pentagon suddenly coming clean on UFOs after decades of denial and stonewalling?
Short answer: they're not.
Let's be clear , the US military hasn't voluntarily released ANY UFO data. Chris Mellon explained the lengths he had to go through to get the three FLIR Navy videos released in 2017. It took three years for the Navy to formally acknowledge the authenticity of those videos.
The UAPTF report was mandated by Congress - written into law in December 2020. That stipulation was pushed through by a couple curious senators that had gotten classified briefings on the issue. It called for a comprehensive summary of ALL data related to UAPs. How did the Pentagon respond? Well, in January they fired the guy in charge of the UAPTF and replaced him with people who had lower security clearances. Then they waited until the very end of the deadline and delivered a 6 page report that failed to meet the requirements outlined by Congress. It narrowed its scope of focus to incidents past 2004, and still mostly only included events from 2019 on. Even still, it failed to accurately report the number of incidents, vastly understating the frequency of encounters and conveniently leaving out the more bizarre, hard to describe aspects such as flight characteristics and speed. It didn't even bother to describe the shape of any of these objects.
Throughout this time, the Pentagon was intentionally lying about Luis Elizondo and his role at AATIP. Regardless of what you think about the guy, it is a FACT that he held a leadership position in AATIP, which investigated UFOs. The Pentagon went so far as to say that Elizondo had no role in the program at all.
Elizondo is now a civilian and does not speak on behalf of the Pentagon. Even though he has a defense/COINTEL background, any claims he makes about the topic cannot be ascribed to a government or military narrative. He is no longer on their payroll.
The Pentagon spokesperson who is in charge of responding to UAP inquiries is Susan Gough, who proudly boasts about her history of being involved in psychological operations. Some people here HATE when I talk about psy-ops, because they prefer to imagine that everything is rosy and the government is planning to just come clean about the topic without any shadiness going on behind the scenes. There is a long history of psy-ops, disinformation, and narrative control about UFOs that comes straight from the Pentagon. These things have been going on longer than the vast majority of us have been alive. And I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it's 100% still going on.
If disclosure is happening, it is coming from a faction within the government that wants to get some information out. By all indications, there is no "official" disclosure in the works and the Pentagon is still trying every trick up it's sleeve to keep the genie in the bottle.
