Underwater deuterium / tritium harvesting off the coasts of America
The recently released Pentagon UFO / UAP report features military sightings of flying craft and large sections of unexplained, roiling whitewater in an otherwise calm ocean. Some of the sightings were off the coast of Florida, and others 100 miles south of San Diego.
In one of many San Diego incidents, 4 Navy pilots from the carrier USS Nimitz spotted craft flying above a large section of turbulent roiling ocean water. The craft were visually spotted, tracked by new infrared airplane-based targeting radar (ATFLIR) as well as ship-based tracking systems, and exhibited flying characteristics that are not possible with currently known human capabilities.
First tracked by ship-based systems, the objects descended 80,000 feet in a matter of seconds, then disappeared into the ocean, or stopped just above the surface. It seems highly unlikely that China or Russia have secretly developed new propulsion systems capable of this, as well as technology that would protect humans or electronic systems from extreme inertial forces created by the rapid changes in speed and direction exhibited. Also, the aerodynamic drag created by traveling 80,000 feet in a few seconds would rip apart or incinerate all materials known to humankind. (For reference, asteroids burn up and explode in Earth's atmosphere while traveling at an average 17 kilometers per second, or about 55,000 feet per second). Metal based structures built by humans would easily rip apart at much lower speeds.
My thoughts are, unknown craft spotted over / entering the ocean points to undersea alien installations designed to harvest deuterium and/or tritium for nuclear fusion. Deuterium / tritium fusion is considered by many to be the most plausible form of nuclear fusion for energy production. Humans don't regularly scan sections of the ocean floor, and have barely mapped 20% of the seabed. The aliens know we don't monitor all our airspace or any of the deep ocean floor for activity, so they have no fear over setting up undersea facilities to harvest nuclear fuel we would use for future nuclear fusion. Tritium and deuterium are very rare, although tritium can be created through various processes, some involving deuterium as a base. Deuterium in the ocean is about 0.0156% of the total available hydrogen, so these interstellar visitors have exhausted their local planetary supply of deuterium and now travel to water-based worlds to harvest more.
They could also be under the ice on Enceladus or Europa as well, although they would find Earth an easier deuterium source since our water is not covered in 11-15 miles of incredibly hard ice (ice becomes harder at colder temperatures). They setup their harvesting operations 100 miles off the coast beyond sonar nets to minimize observation by the ignorant, violent and aggressive humans.
I believe in 100 years or so, when humans master nuclear fusion and begin sourcing deuterium from the oceans, we'll find that deuterium levels have dropped far below what they were when originally measured, to the point that commercial harvesting is no longer economically viable. Scientists will be confounded over where all the deuterium went, and nuclear fusion will no longer be economically viable.
