Where the Pentagon videos ever taken seriously by the Navy? Yes.

I was looking for any official commentary regarding what analysis the Pentagon videos "FLIR1", "Gimbal", and "GoFast" have undergone, whether by the Navy (the original source) or another authority. Have they ever been investigated and taken seriously?

The skeptical view is that there has been no real technical scrutiny of the videos, or they were internally debunked, and then leaked by hustlers to gin up controversy when in reality they are a nothingburger. A popular skeptical theory is that the UAP in "Gimbal" is pilot error, misidentifying FLIR glare from a distant jet engine.

Some theories go further: claiming that the 3 video files were all named to present specific examples of pilot error - e.g. "Gimbal" is named thusly as it shows a pilot mistaking gimbal rotation.

I believe if the jet theory were true, there would have to be no systematic investigation undertaken by the authorities, most importantly of nearby air traffic on the date of the incident; a simple piece of due diligence even for the FAA or commercial airlines.

However, this NBC article (dated Sept. 19, 2019) contains statements by U.S. Navy spokesman Joseph Gradisher which seem to refute the idea:

"The three videos (one from 2004 and two from 2015) show incursions into our military training ranges by unidentified aerial phenomena," Gradisher told NBC News in an emailed statement.

"The Navy has characterized the observed phenomena as unidentified," he said.

[...]

Gradisher said in emails that the larger issue about the three videos is what he called an increase “in the number of military training range incursions by unidentified aerial [phenomena],” and he said all such sightings are investigated.

"Any incursion into our training ranges by any aircraft or phenomena, identified or not identified, is problematic from both a safety and security concern," he said.

He goes on to state:

"While the objects in the three videos in question are designated as unknown, Gradisher said that as inexpensive unmanned aerial systems — commonly called drones — become more prevalent, "sightings of this nature have increased in frequency."

So drones are a possible explanation, albeit an explanation that comes with its own set of questions and mysteries. The distant jet theory is a stretch, unless it can be proven the Navy would overlook such a detail in an investigation into problematic safety and security concerns (or Gradisher would characterize distant lights as an "incursion into our training ranges"). The idea of the videos being named to demonstrate pilot error, or there having been no investigation whatsoever, is false.
