Tired of constantly seeing this sub reduced to a echo chamber for naive/foolish believers

How often do you see comments of this ilk:

"this sub is full of foolish believers that will believe any light in the sky are aliens"

or

"this sub gives the subject a bad name/all of you are the reason people will never believe the phenomenon is legitimate"

These over-generalizations are found everywhere in this sub (and on reddit) and at this point just seem like cheap attempts to garner karma. this sub has almost 500k subscribers, r/UFO has 90k, and r/Aliens 380k. these massive communities are way more nuanced than any single majority.

At least in this sub, posts that have prosaic explanations almost always have comments (upvoted towards the top) that offer these explanations with plenty of supporting opinions found underneath. honestly IMO the skeptic/believer demographics are almost equal here... perhaps 60/40 believers and skeptics is slightly more accurate.

regardless, the idea that this sub is an echo chamber of believers enabling each other is a misrepresentation of the truth.
